During the late '40s and early '50s, Edward B. Thomson Enterprises and Sailors Home Building firmly planted their roots in the Kansas City area. Their reputations were built on outstanding customer service, resulting in the beginning of a tradition synonymous with quality.
All principals involved in Thomson-Sailors Homes were raised in the home building industry. Eddie Thomson, son of Ed Thomson Jr., joined his father's company in 1964. They built homes primarily in south Kansas City until 1980, when they expanded into Johnson County. The Sailors' roots are remarkably similar. Bob and Don Sailors formed their own company in 1965. Their first homes were built within the communities developed by their father, Forest Sailors. Thomson-Sailors Homes is based on over fifty years of experience and professionalism. Their teamwork approach assures that every detail receives proper attention. The company boasts first, second and third generation builders, with roots strongly embedded in the home building industry. Thomson-Sailors' commitment to the industry is evident in the fact that three of the four principals have served as president of the Greater Kansas City Home Builders Association during the past 30 years.
